Ok… so I don’t update this as often as I should, I also haven’t received too many emails on suggestions on causes that people would like showcased, which is disappointing to me. I chose to do something to make a difference for animals because of an experience that happened this past weekend.
Friday I got a call from Daniel saying there was a kitten in the back yard and that he basically put it out somewhere in the neighborhood (yes he is not like I am when it comes to these things, although in his defense, our dog would have killed it!) I of course told him ok, but I wish he would have put it somewhere until I could have taken it to a shelter.
Saturday morning I went out the back door heading to the laundry room and I heard the faintest little meow… I looked over and a tiny orange and white kitten was heading up our driveway. He looked horrible, and my heart sank. I went inside and told Daniel that it came back. He was in the carport, I told Daniel not to move him and started calling around and leaving messages. I was told not to feed it, because it would never leave. (I didn’t like this….)
As the day went on and I called and left a million messages trying to find somewhere to take this kitten in (6-8 weeks old at the most), I walked outside and told Daniel I didn’t give a shit I was bringing it water and feeding it. So, I took at a bowl of water, and I looked down at it and you could tell it’s eyes were infected. My heart was soooooooo broken.
I went back inside and called the Humane Society and was told they couldn’t help me because they had 168 cats. I then left more messages. I took a can of tuna out to it, and it was just attention starved, it ate… and hung out in the carport. I recieved a call and she said they did shots etc, to call another rescue place and I left a number (to receive no call back at all!)
My intensions were to find it a home today, I didn’t care where I would have to take it, but i haven’t seen him since Saturday night, I can only hope that he is safe and maybe someone saw this poor thing and took him in….
So for me, please….

I’m so glad you posted this. I used to go and click on this site everyday and haven’t been so good about it lately. I clicked and will start clicking everyday again. I know nicolle does too. I hope the kitty shows up soon. From what I’ve seen, almost everyone in my neighborhood is a dog person so I’m sure they all hate that I spend sometimes hours outside trying to feed cats! It really does break my heart to see them out there, especially because I know how spoiled my two cats are. If anyone should get an award for helping homeless animals, its nicolle. She has atleast 10-15 cats in her backyard that she feeds daily!!!

I do have an update but didn’t post it yet, he was back this morning, so I am feeding him, his eyes look horrible, I have to find some way for him to get treated, even if he lives in my damn yard, I don’t care, I just want him (or her) healthy!

Awwww…poor babies! This just breaks my heart. Thank you for trying to do whatever you can to keep them strong. Summer is so hard on animals, especially the ones who are sick. I click at this website everyday. Thank you for bringing attention to it!
